The Alameda MOAA Chapter works with the community to support our active and retired military.  In addition to our annual support of ROTC students in three of the six armed  services  with scholarships of $1,000 or $,1500 each given to deserving students, we support several other programs including Honor Flight - Bay Area,, the  V A Medical Center outdoor garden,  Coast Guard Ball and Benefits Fund and many others, averaging over $1,000 each year.  Our Chapter is exempt from U S (and California) income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 ( c ) (19).  Contributions to us are deductible by donors under Section 170  ( c )  (3).
