Lieutenant Colonel W. Austin Street

Lt Col W. Austin Street is a National Defense Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, Center for International Security and Cooperation, Stanford University, California. In this role, he contributes to Stanford's hub for nonpartisan, interdisciplinary research, teaching, and policy impact on international affairs. He conducts innovative research and shares findings with policy makers that tackles some of the world's most pressing security and international cooperation issues. Lt Col Street commissioned into the Air Force in June 2005 after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy and earned a master's degree in 2013 from the University of Massachusetts. He is a distinguished graduate of Air Command and Staff College, an Air University Fellow, an Air Force Fellow, and a graduate of the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies. His previous assignments include Joint Base Charleston and Altus Air Force Base as a C-17A Special Operations Low Level II pilot, and a lead airdrop instructor pilot with multiple deployments in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and NEW DAWN. Lt Col Street is a command pilot with more than 3,500 hours and is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School.
