For eight years we have enjoyed our special Fleet Week event aboard the U.S.S. Potomac.   Many of you have come year after year to sail the bay and to watch a preview of the upcoming Fleet Week airshow.    And more importantly, helped us raise money for our yearly ROTC Scholarships.   We’ve awarded more than $45,000 dollars to our future leaders over the past few years.   . 

The puts us right in the middle of all the great activity, just off the Embarcadero in San Francisco.   It is rich in history –the O'Brien made seven World War II voyages, ranging from England and Northern Ireland to South America, to India, to Australia. She also made eleven crossings of the English Channel carrying personnel and supplies to the Normandy beaches in support of the D-Day invasion.  And it is quite fascinating to see the operation that is seen on each of its five decks.    We will not sail – but we don’t need to, we’ll be in a prime location to see a great show.  And come and go as you please – there won’t be any departing times.
